Un livre complet sur le travail entreprit par cet artiste, avec des rabats pour pouvoir admirer avec plus de détails certains tableaux.Un incontournable de Ryden.

Each section also has full page details from some of the paintings and there are several multi-page fold-outs included as well. Those familiar with Ryden's work may be familiar with some of the titles mentioned above, and some are familiar with his images and may not know the titles. For those more familiar with the images, in this book you will find big eyed children, suffering stuffed animals, many faces of Abe Lincoln, cuts of meat, pale ghostly girls, sinister liquids, unknown beasts, and many wonders that cannot be explained (by me). Ryden lovers will be captivated by the large detail images, they are beautiful.
The reproductions are excellent and include drawings that were done to plan the paintings. ( As an artist I am always interested in seeing the process.) The articles consider Ryden's work from many angles and are generally informative without drifting too far into art speak. The main bodies of the artist's work are included here, and the reader can follow the development of Ryden's imagery as he progresses from one theme to another.Some may find the imagery disturbing or sacrilegious, but I don't think that is the artist's intent. He seems to be questioning all belief systems including consumerism, materialism, religion and mysticism by creating awkward encounters their between pop culture representatives. The results are often humorous, but when considered more carefully they allude to feelings of loss and bewilderment. What appears initially to be a twisted version of a greeting card or an illustration in a children's book, becomes an expression of spiritual unrest.
This is my second Pinxit book, yes I am a die hard Ryden fan that bought the limited edition version. I am madly in love with my limited edition copy (which is even bigger than this one!), but am scared to have anyone breathe on it. I bought this "unlimited edition" so that I could feel safe letting friends flip through it, rather than risking any damage to my signed copy.I was very pleased when I recieved my copy last week, it is almost as beautiful as the original, Taschen really puts out a stunning product. Even at $69.00 it is an incredible value, so the reduced $40 price on Amazon is practically a steal (the original was $1,000)! While not as big as the limited, its generous size and fabric cover will undoubtably impress. Every Ryden fan and art lover should have this in their library. The original is probably the most exquisite art book in the universe, version 2.0 is a close second! Go buy this book!!!!!
Another great Taschen XXL monograph. Fans of Ryden this is a must purchase in this beautifully constructed book, amazing quality paper and color accuracy.Most comprehensive publication on Ryden to date!
Ordered this book and received it today. I am mid-way through and am very pleased. I am glad that there is an affordable version of this book. It is a large, heavy book, which is not common for Mark Ryden's work. I have the Blood Book and it is tiny in comparison.What I love about this book is the size. You get to see the artwork details.It also has some works that are a 4 page fold out. If you are a fan of Mark Ryden, get this book before the price goes up, which it always does.
